"After having my son, I was at a loss of what to do. There were always excuses of why I couldn't workout. My challenge my entire life has been my own mind. I have been able to pinpoint that eating was an unhealthy coping skill of mine and I had to learn to change that. The group was amazing! There were days that I didn’t feel like walking—but I would see all these sweaty faces of these awesome ladies and then I knew I had to do it. This challenge was more than trying to win a prize for me—it was an opportunity to win myself back. Gonna keep on pushing through next month and make this a set lifestyle change!
I have been on and off diets my whole life. Keto, low calorie, nurtisystem, weight loss supplements, etc. you name it, I’ve tried it. Yes, I lost weight on all of those plans, but as soon as you reach your goal weight and try to add in some carbs or stop the energy supplement, those pounds come right back. I have learned that there is no miracle drug to make you healthy. Through this challenge, I have learned what good, clean foods are and I make sure I make meals that are full of them. If you are on the fence about trying it out, go for it. I promise you will learn a lot and become a healthier person.
I found a new sense of self worth and.confidence. I am one who now can hold my head up not dreading not getting to sleep in and having to go exercise . I thank u for this amazing opportunity for sure and can't wait for round 2!
I was at a point in my life where I had 2 choices; buy bigger pants (because I was busting the seams out of them) or make a change. My niece, Kayla asked me to join and I saw amazing results from her. I decided, what is the worst that can happen? Take the plunge.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the workouts, food ideas, positive motivation from Sara Jo—but what makes it all worth- while is the group of ladies that I do this every day with. Getting up and seeing their posts about how they did their workouts—made me want to complete mine. Seeing their positive choices in the day—made me want to make positive choices. They were motivating and helped me shape my healthy mindset I have today.
It is not about the pounds or inches for me—it was how I thought. I know how to lose weight, I just had the wrong mindset. I have a healthy mindset and made changes for a healthier lifestyle—not a diet or temporary change. I know this is a lifestyle change for me. Secondly, my wife followed the rules along-side me and she has seen amazing results as well. She was able to reduce her A1C 2 points and be taken off 3 medications by her doctor. So when I said, it is a lifestyle change—it is. Life changing.
I had to take a double take of myself in the mirror because I can’t remember the last time I looked like this. I’m not where I want to be yet—but I know how to get there. I don’t think I ever saw the light at the end of the tunnel before now.
